Technical Officer (Environmental Commercial)

Applications are invited for the post of Environmental Health Technical Officer, working within the Commercial section of our Environmental Health team. In addition to undertaking a number of duties within the fields of food safety, health and safety and infectious disease control, there may also be opportunity to gain experience in imported food control, working out of Stansted Airport.


Applicants will have a higher certificate in Food premises / Food inspection or be working towards a BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Health.  EHRB registration is essential to achieve Grade 6, as is experience of enforcing relevant legislation and having detailed knowledge of, codes of practice and practice guidance, to a level commensurate with the food competency level required for the role.


Reporting to a Senior Environmental Health Officer, this post provides a real opportunity to become part of a friendly, supportive, and dynamic team and to make a full contribution to the delivery of our workplan. It is also an opportunity to develop experience, giving you responsibility for your own busy and varied workload, helping and ensuring our businesses achieve high standards of compliance.


A full driving licence and access to a car available for work is essential.  From time to time, there may be a requirement for some out of hours working.
