We are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner (we are also willing to consider job shares for the right candidate) to cover maternity leave from January to the end of the academic year, teaching in Y1. The ideal candidate is inspirational, enthusiastic and hardworking.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a school where you will be supported and have a range of opportunities to further your professional development. Our January 2022 Ofsted said, Staff enjoy working at this school. They told the inspector that leaders take account of their workload, and are mindful of their well-being. They described the staff team as a family.

In addition, our children are well behaved, hardworking and are eager to learn. Our Governors are extremely supportive and are committed to ensuring our children are receiving the best education possible.

The successful candidate must have high expectations, a strong commitment to raising standards, use a range of techniques and skills to inspire and develop our children’s love of learning, as well as a good sense of humour. Experience of teaching in KS1 is essential and familiarity with Read, Write, Inc desirable although not essential.

You are strongly encouraged to come for a visit to Millfields, where you will be warmly welcomed by the Headteacher, Rob Parish and Deputy, Clare Swindley. Please contact the school office to book an appointment at a mutually convenient time. In addition to the application form, a job description and person specification are also available from the school office. Our school is committed to safeguarding children and therefore the appointment will be subject to stringent vetting, DBS checks and good references.

Closing date for the receipt of applications is noon on Monday, 31st October 2022.  Observations and interviews will be held later that week.
