Dementia Support Worker

Rutland County Council are looking for an individual with a passion for, and experience of, providing care for older Adults. The successful candidate will be joining our team to provide specialist support to families affected by dementia across Rutland. The Admiral Nurse service is hosted by Rutland County Council and works in collaboration with Dementia UK.

About you…

  • Educated to a GCSE level or equivalent
  • Experience of working with older adults
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to organise and prioritise own workload

 About the role…

  • The post holder will provide support and guidance to people with dementia and their carers; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being
  • To offer support and guidance to clients in a variety of ways, whether 1:1 or through group work.
  • The role will be integrated and work in partnership with other professionals, providing a seamless service across Health and Social Care and the Voluntary sector.
  • The post holder provides support to the Clinical Nurse in Dementia Care for a caseload of patients living with dementia
  • The role is also expected to assist in providing dementia awareness training

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.

Please note you will need a full driving licence to enable you to drive around the county.
