The Public Health team is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual to lead on improving diversity and inclusion outcomes, both for our workforce and our public facing services.
The role will include guiding and advising senior managers on D & I matters and supporting the work of the Public Health Diversity & Inclusion Board, so we’re looking for someone with experience of identifying equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) issues. You’ll then make a constructive and proactive contribution formulating and implementing solutions to address those issues, and monitoring progress on actions.
You’ll work with other D & I managers across the organisation and other colleagues / Public Health teams to deliver changes to existing internal processes and culture as well as promoting relevant EDI training and communications to staff. Experience in facilitating workshops on D & I matters is an added advantage.
In addition, you’ll work closely with Public Health colleagues within the commissioning team to advise and support on ensuring accessibility of services to Hertfordshire residents. This will include advising on equality, diversity and inclusion within service specifications and contract monitoring, as well as equality impact assessments.
The right person will have a sound understanding of the full spectrum of diversity and inclusion issues, trends and best practice around protected characteristics and other factors leading to exclusion.
This is very much a hands-on role which will require getting involved in the delivery of actions as well as strategy and planning, so a can-do attitude is essential.
