Direct Payment Monitoring Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Direct Payments Monitoring Officer, the main function of the Direct Payment Monitoring Officer is to deliver a proactive, efficient and high quality Direct Payment management service for the Council.  This post is responsible for actively progressing and monitoring the audit function of our process. To complete annual audits of those who receive social care support via our Direct Payment scheme, including both health patients and social care service users.

You must be hard working, flexible in approach, an excellent communicator,    demonstrate team working skills and be able to work to strict deadlines.

You should be organised and methodical, being able to work autonomously and use your own initiative, together with an investigative approach. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an aptitude for figure work are essential.  Previous audit and financial reconciliation experience is desirable. 

You will work alongside the Self Directed Support Officers and other departments and hold a caseload of complex and contentious issues arising from the audit process.  You will also work to identify and resolve cases of non-compliance with our audit requirements, contacting clients regarding monies owed, either in person, by telephone, letter or email.
