Traffic & Parking Engineer - Career Grade

Are you an ambitious, driven engineer with proven data analysis skills and looking to further build on your skills and experience?

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are looking for an enthusiatic and motivated individual to join the team and be heavily involved in the delivery of ongoing, high-profile projects alongside managing day-to-day traffic and parking issues.

The role will also be instrumental in delivering Parking and Transport Strategies for the Borough. Impacting in a real way, on the lives of residents and visitors to our towns and villages by helping to support residents’ welfare and the prosperity of the local economy.

Ideally, you will be educated to a degree level in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline, although we will consider other candidates who are suitably experienced and skilled. The ability to gather and process data, and communicate findings effectively to members of the public, work colleagues and elected members will be vital to the role, so excellent IT and communication skills are very important.

The successful candidate will be appointed at the appropriate grade based on qualifications and previous knowledge and experience.  Candidates appointed to the lower grade will have the opportunity to progress to the higher grade based on their performance and taking on additional responsibilities within their role.

We are a thriving Borough with extensive residential areas, established business operations and retail shopping centres.  Tunbridge Wells is a major tourist destination in the southeast of England, attracting many visitors each year.

The Council is a great place to work, we are forward-thinking and innovative, employing around 300 people.  We work 37 hours per week with the opportunity to work from home for some of the time.
