This is a 12 months fixed-term contract to cover for maternity leave in the team starting in November 2022.

About the role

As an HR Business Partner you will carry out a critical role providing support and challenge to your service area and sitting as an integral part of a directorate management team supporting the Executive Director and their senior managers.

We expect HR Business Partners to be able to support directorates across the organisation but, at the moment, this role is intended to be linked to our Families, Children and Learning (FCL) directorate. FCL’s strategy is outlined here. They play a key part in delivering our anti-racist promise and fair and inclusive aims as well as working on the Workplace Race Equality Standards for social care

You will ensure that people issues are a key part of strategic decision making and provide solution focused challenge and advice to support our people promise and our fair & inclusive ambitions.  You will also be the link between the directorate management team and HR ensuring that service delivery meets the directorate's needs. 

As a senior HR professional you will help shape the HR service and ensure the needs and views of our diverse customers are at the heart of everything we do and that corporate people initiatives are translated into action within the directorate.  You will also lead on corporate HR projects to improve our offer and in developing our approach as a fair, inclusive and diverse employer.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
