Full time: Permanent/Full-Time
Location: Flexible
(1) Hybrid working with a minimum number of days (currently two days) in any of our offices (London, Cardiff, Edinburgh or Belfast) in line with the Commission’s policies;
OR
(2) Home based (although we would require some attendance at the London office in the first month of employment)

The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections, and encourages people to register to vote.

Job Description

This is a permanent position that includes business partnering; production of quarterly performance reports to the Commission Board and monthly management reports to the Executive Team; supporting the Commission’s Project Management Office (PMO); leading the development of planning and monitoring of business-as-usual work in the organisation; supporting the development of operations plans including identification of team activities and associated risk identifications/assessments/mitigations; and supporting the Planning and Performance Manager in the annual business planning round and the development of Key Performance Measures (KPMs). The post holder will also be responsible for the completion of outstanding audit recommendations and integrating these into operational planning.

This role will lead on reviewing the guidance and policies in place to ensure the organisation is meeting the Public Sector Equality Duty.

Role Requirements

Ideally, the candidate will be educated to degree level or with comparable experience.  You will have experience of performance monitoring and reporting and of developing and delivering KPMs and impact measures. You will have the experience and ability to direct and manage a portfolio of projects. You will be used to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to tight deadlines. You will have excellent written communication skills and a good understanding of the links between financial and business planning.
