Midday Supervisor

JOB TITLE  Midday Supervisor




The Job Holder is responsible for ensuring supervision of all pupils during the lunchtime period both in the dining area, during playground activities, as well as in classrooms during wet lunchtimes.

Salary; Grade 4 Scale Point 5 - £19,560 pa pro rata; 7.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

(11.45am-1.20pm Monday to Friday)




Ensures the appropriate deployment of Midday Assistants during the lunchtime period; including allocation of staff to prescribed duties to ensure the safety of pupils.


Arranges age-appropriate activities for pupils during inclement weather.


Ensures application of the school behaviour policy during this period, including giving guidance to Midday Assistants.


Monitors Midday staffs’ timekeeping and absences; and refers the monthly time sheet to school management.


Refers to senior members of staff on duty in cases of emergency; or, if unable to contact staff, call for the public emergency services by dialling 999.

Notwithstanding the detail in this job description, in accordance with the Council’s Flexibility Policy the job holder will undertake such work as may be determined by the Headteacher from time to time, up to or at a level consistent with the Principal Responsibilities of the job and in any location within the Council of Cheshire.

Required from October 2022, the Governors and Headteacher wish to appoint an enthusiastic, imaginative and inspiring Midday Supervisor.
