The role
Operating within a fast paced, flexible and dynamic food safety team we are seeking a suitably qualified and competent officer to join the team deliver a range of food safety interventions, investigations and resolution of casework and contribute to the overall delivery of Camden’s food safety function. The role includes a substantial amount of resolution, preventative and advisory work including response to enquiries and service requests.

The role is be based in an enabled and empowered team-focused service where all officers are expected to work flexibly to meet evolving services demands. You will contribute to the development and implementation of policies and projects to improve the core food safety function.

About You
You will have a baseline qualification for food, food hygiene, and food standards official controls and meet the competency requirements of the Food Law Code of Practice for an Authorised Officer with recent experience of carrying out inspections and up to date training and accreditation for role requirements.

You will have good knowledge/understanding and experience of the legislative framework, guidance and codes relevant to food safety regulation and infectious disease control and experience in its application to casework. You will be able to take responsibility for innovative interventions in the investigation and successful resolution of complaints and other enquiries.

To succeed, you will bring a track record of working collaboratively with internal and external partners, demonstrating good outcome focussed customer care and communication skills to identify innovative and creative approaches to casework and Camden objectives. You will have the ability to take an organised approach to your own workload whilst dealing with conflicting priorities and to ensuring a customer service outcome focused approach.
