We have an opportunity for a new Review Worker to join our small, friendly and supportive Review Team.
We are looking for someone with some experience or knowledge of supporting vulnerable or disabled adults in the community to help us complete annual reviews of support packages already in place for Wokingham residents. We are looking for someone with particular knowledge or experience ideally of working with people with learning disabilities. Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and The Care Act would be preferred but training can be offered. No formal qualifications are required for this post but you will be required to evidence good English, maths and IT skills.
The work is varied and will involve working with adults with a wide range of needs and disabilities. The reviews will involve you collecting information and feedback from a variety of sources in order to ascertain whether the support in place remains effective, appropriate and meets the needs of both the resident and any informal carers. You will be responsible for identifying any concerns and raising these with the appropriate people or agreeing actions to be taken. Some awareness of safeguarding adults would be preferred but training and full support will be provided on how to identify and report any Safeguarding Concerns identified during a review.
Our reviews are most commonly face to face although we have during the current pandemic been exploring other ways to engage with our residents and providers of care including virtual meetings or telephone conversations. You will need to have good interpersonal and communication skills to help build the rapport necessary to engage with some of our more vulnerable residents as well as good report writing skills. Due to the number of these face to face visits, it will be essential for you to hold a valid driver’s licence and have access to a car (mileage costs can be claimed back each month). The majority of our reviews take place within the Wokingham Borough but occasionally you will be asked to support us to review placements for some of our residents that are outside of this.
You will hold a busy caseload and contribute to the team’s monthly performance, but in return you will be offered regular supervision each month along with peer support and monthly team meetings.
