We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Newly Qualified Social Worker to work within the Localities Team which includes clients over 18 years of age with a Physical Disability and Older People. You will be part of a Team made up of Team Managers, Advanced Practitioners, Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, Social Work Apprentices and Community Care Workers. We offer a comprehensive ASYE programme which will support you through the first year of your social work career. The programme is delivered in collaboration with other West London boroughs and includes regular supervision, a protected caseload, a personal development plan and protected time for personal development.

We are dedicated to investing in training and learning for social workers at every stage of their career. There are many ways to develop both personally and professionally and with clear pathways for progression, you'll be given every encouragement to reach your potential through internal and external training.

About you

Through Locality work, you will gain experience in carrying out Care Act 2014 assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments and gain an understanding in DoLS, risk assessments and secondary mental health. You will also gain experience with Safeguarding investigations and take the lead in investigations in conjunction with the Safeguarding Adults Manager. Joint working will also be completed with our Health partners such as the Integrated Care Board, District Nurses, GP's and Occupational Therapists. We also work closely with the voluntary sector and part of the induction encompasses learning more of what services our voluntary partners offer. Your induction will also include getting to know the various internal teams we work with within Adult Social Care, such as the Financial Assessment Team, Occupational Therapy, Hospital Team and Direct Payments.

You will be based at the Civic Centre in Uxbridge in addition to remote working and Hillingdon provide onsite parking based next to the Civic Centre.

If you are passionate about providing good quality services to vulnerable adults and keen to join our service, you'll need to be flexible, highly motivated, an effective communicator and well able to build trust and maintain strong relationships. Good IT skills and organisational skills are also key attributes which you will need to work in a paper free environment and make good use of our technology.
