The role

Responsible for overseeing the operations within The Woodville Theatre, ensuring all aspects of the business operate efficiently and maximise commercial opportunities, whilst delivering excellent customer service. Strong emphasis is placed on effective business management, financial and performance management.

The post holder will be a strong leader with similar experience at a senior level and have a clear understanding of balancing commercial and artistic activities.

Main responsibilities

Undertake a range of specialist tasks including:

To oversee the successful operation of the venue and line manage section managers including Food and Beverage, Technical Services and Business Officer

To ensure all areas of the business operate efficiently through setting and robust monitoring of targets, overseeing appropriate policy and procedure

Overall performance management of the theatre, ensuring it operates within budget provisions and to legislative requirements, whilst developing its offer.

To ensure performance targets are set, identify any weakness in business areas and create strategies for dealing with this

To explore new and effective commercial opportunities; actively seek new business for our conference, events and meeting rooms

Essential qualifications/experience-

Minimum Level 5 Business & Management, or equivalent qualification / extensive experience

Holder of Personal Licence (or ability to obtain one)

Holder of a valid first aid certificate (or ability to obtain one)

Proven experience of working in a similar role with direct staff supervision.

Demonstrated experience within a commercial environment where focus was placed on efficiency, profit & loss

Proven experience of managing complex budgets

Demonstrated experience at management level with responsibility for planning and delivering events

Demonstrated experience within a customer service environment.

Experience of budget setting, monitoring and projecting, business planning and performance management

Experience in marketing events and activities

Desirable qualifications/experience-
