The Programmes and Projects Team is a small, centralised team that provides professional support to the Council’s major programmes and projects in order to achieve the Council's key priorities and objectives.

Specifically, the team provide support to deliver the Knowsley Council Plan 2022 – 2025 which has a simple, strategic vision of supporting Knowsley’s people and communities to thrive.

The Plan sets out three long-term priority themes which help to ensure that the Council effectively realises this vision:

  • Effective Support for those in Need – ensuring that all Knowsley residents are able to access the support and services they need.
  • Inclusive Growth and Skills - ensuring that all of Knowsley’s communities are able to share in the opportunities from local economic growth.
  • Achieving Net Zero 2040 – ensuring that the Council plays a leading role in local action to address the Climate Emergency.

We are currently seeking to recruit a permanent, full time (36 hours), Programme Development Officer. The role will involve supporting a Council Directorate to deliver its priorities and in doing so the Council Plan.

The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team delivering a comprehensive and dynamic service, which is flexible and responsive to need. You must be people focused with the ability to build professional and positive relationships with senior managers, elected members, internal and external specialists, and community representatives.

Experience at a senior level within a programme or complex project environment is essential. This must include the co-ordination and reporting of information, resource and budget management, staff management, governance, stakeholder engagement and partnership management.
