Opportunity for one full-time and one part-time Crematorium Officer, based at Woodvale Crematorium in Brighton.

Working within a busy team to provide dignified funeral and memorial services, you will be well presented and have a flexible approach to your work.

About the role

You will work closely with colleagues and on your own initiative to provide a first-class service to our customers, including funeral directors and the bereaved.  The tasks involved will be varied, and will include cremating, funeral services, scattering of ashes, removal of flowers, meet and greet, housekeeping to a high standard in all public areas; as well as responding to queries from visitors to the Crematorium.

You will have experience of working in a customer service environment and have excellent communication and IT skills. You will understand the sensitivities involved in providing services to the bereaved.

Previous experience of working in a crematorium is not essential as full training will be provided, including support in gaining relevant qualifications.

The vacancies are 1 x 37 hours and 1 x 16 hours per week on a flexible basis to meet the needs of the service, and you may be asked to work additional hours during busy periods.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
