We are recruiting to the Senior Practitioner role in Safeguarding Adults within The Initial Assessment Team.
The initial Assessment team covers the front area of Adult Social Care. The team is headed up by a team manager and Senior Practitioners. The Senior Practitioners lead sections of the team. You will become part of the Senior Practitioner leadership team leading on Safeguarding referrals into Tower Hamlets.
The role is for an experienced senior, practice manager or deputy manager, supervising 7 staff who screen safeguarding referrals. Experience as a Safeguarding Adults Manager is essential. The role will also encompass some strategic elements, assisting in pathway development and liaising with other professionals/clinicians from within the service and externally. Other aspects of the role will extend to quality assurance, maintaining performance data, and assisting in the development of the wider ASC staff through case forums. It is an exciting time to join the team as we are evolving the safeguarding team through the ADDER project (Addiction, Diversion, Disruption, Enforcement and Recovery), Tower Hamlets is one of only two London boroughs that participate in the project. We are also enhancing our pathways through strong relationships with our partner agencies. The wider team covers new referrals for care and support, the independent living hub and discharge to assess.

As a senior practitioner, you will have experience of supervising social care staff in a similar role and will implement a high standard of professional social work practice. Your role will include overseeing practice including the care and support process, and decision-making regarding eligibility and safeguarding. The Senior Practitioner role is the equivalent to Practice Manager / Assistant Team Manager in other boroughs.
You will support the Team Manager in ensuring the operational effectiveness of the team, allocating and prioritising workloads, supervising the correct recording and throughput of cases and taking responsibility for ensuring all cases are safely managed.
