In 2020, Newark Towns Fund Board, made up of more than 40 private and public businesses, and spear-headed by the District Council submitted a bid to the Government under their Towns Fund initiative. This bid was successful and £25m was given to deliver 10 transformative projects in Newark, including the Air and Space Institute, the Castle Gatehouse Project and the Cultural Heart of Newark Project.
The District Council is looking for a passionate and self-motivated senior level communications and marketing officer to support their important work on these projects.
The role will develop and deliver a well thought out and planned communications programme for the Town Fund Projects as outlined in Newark’s Town Investment Plan in a way, which enhances the reputation of Newark Town Board and the district council.
Following the recommendations set out in Newark Town Board Communications Strategy, the postholder will be pivotal in coordinating a range of communication and marketing activity while working closely with various partners and businesses.
Substantial experience of PR or marketing, ideally within a public sector setting, while managing a varied workload with conflicting deadlines in a high-pressured environment is essential.
You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent in either journalism, public relations or marketing/advertising or have significant demonstrable experience, in a relevant role.
