Web and Digital Communications Officer

Starting salary:  Grade four - £29k to £35k per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: 37 hours a week (flexibility for the right candidate)

Contract: Permanent


We’re looking for an enthusiastic, talented and versatile Web and Digital Communications Officer with excellent content creation skills and strong customer service values, who enjoys working as part of a close team.

You will be joining the council’s communications team, working alongside our Web Manager and other members of the team, playing a key role in supporting the management of our corporate website and its content.

The right candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of managing websites and their content, and experience of using content management systems. 

You’ll have great copywriting skills and knowledge of best practice in content design standards, able to explain complex ideas simply. You’ll also have an excellent understanding of online customer journeys – and experience of applying that knowledge to web content and structure.

You’ll be a creative problem solver, who will enjoy working with a wide variety of content owners to help improve our customers’ online experience. You will be able to produce and understand insight data and feedback - and use it to develop new ways of working and to improve the experience and journeys for our customers.

As part of the communications team, you will also support our ever-increasing digital communications activities and our core campaign work, where appropriate.

You will also be driven by excellence and a desire to do what’s right for our customers - and you’ll have the skills and technical knowledge to make it happen.

This is a permanent post to support the continued development of our website and the increased emphasis on more, and better, digital customer and community engagement.
