Technical Support Officer
For this exciting opportunity you use your administrative and communication skills to the full, providing invaluable support across our busy Directorate. Your hugely varied role will see you handling calls and emails to a busy helpdesk for reporting Highways & Transportation issues, logging the calls and ensuring all the necessary information is gathered from the caller and administering the process, informing the appropriate operational team of the issue.
Your role will include processing highways licences and permits, handling confidential card payments, dealing with applications for domestic crossovers, managing our offsite document retrieval process, and liaising with Transportation managers and staff and contractors
You must be able to work to tight deadlines effectively and accurately to ensure the departments performance is maintained, ensuring attention to detail at all times. You must be able to handle phone calls providing a professional, customer friendly initial point of contact.
Given the scope of this role, you'll need to be highly organised and proactive, with a solid base of administrative support experience. You must be comfortable talking to both customers and colleagues and have a good understanding of databases and computerised ordering systems.
