Post: Key Stage 1 (Year 2) Class Teacher – Temporary Maternity Cover

Grade and Salary: M1-M6 (Not suitable for ECT)

Start Date: 27th February 2023

Are you an enthusiastic and committed teacher who would relish the chance to join a rapidly growing Academy?

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent practitioner to join our Teaching Team at Rudheath Primary Academy and Nursery. We are a supportive, well-led Academy – proud to be part of the Focus-Trust. As an innovative Academy we are striving to improve standards so that all children achieve across a broad and balanced curriculum.

As a classteacher you need the ability and determination to promote high expectations for the achievement and progress of all children. We are looking for someone with Key Stage 1 experience. We offer the same terms and conditions as local authority schools

Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

If you are shortlisted, we will take up references before the interview date. One of your referees must be your current or most recent employer. Two satisfactory references must be received before we can confirm any offer of an appointment. The information we request will relate to salary, length of service, skills and abilities, suitability for ther job, disciplinary record and suitability to work with children. Copies of refeences or open references will not be accepted. On receipt of references, your referees may be contacted to verify any discrepancies, anomalies, or relevant issues as part of the recruitment verification process.

In line with our safer recruitment policy, an online presence search will be undertaken if you are shortlisted. This on line search is designed to complement the range of standard recruitment checks and allows us to identify a candidate’s online presence which potentially could damage the organisation’s reputation and/or question a candidate’s suitability to work with children.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

Please contact the school by email for further information.

Application form and further particulars are available on the recruitment site and should be returned to Mrs Kath Shaw (
