Starting Salary: £23,620 progress to a maximum of £26,845
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: one role is permanent and one role is fixed term
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Care Services Directorate Support team, working as a PA to 2 of our directors. Providing administrative support to our busy senior management board, you will play an integral part in supporting our senior leaders to ensure the department continues to provide exceptional social care to the people of Hertfordshire.
You will form part of a team made up of 5 Senior Support Officers, line managed by a Senior Business Support Manager, who provide PA/executive support to the 7 Directors and the Executive Director of Adult Care Services. Working directly to two Directors in the role of their PA, you will be involved primarily in diary management and coordinating events and meetings. Providing high level administrative support, you will regularly engage and work with partner agencies and a range of senior leaders and executives, both internally and externally, including Members of the County Council.
Working as part of a fast-paced and busy senior management team, you will manage and coordinate diaries for two Directors on a day-to-day basis. Additional pieces of work you complete will be varied and could include proofreading reports, conducting research, preparing presentations, minute taking and liaising with other people across the organisation as well as with external partner agencies (including the NHS)
We are looking ideally for someone with previous administrative/PA experience, but we are also willing to provide training and support for someone keen and up to the challenge of acquiring experience in high level administrative work. Regardless of prior admin experience, the successful applicant will have strong communication and organisation skills, good attention to detail and be able to prioritise tasks.
Working in Adult Social Care, in any role, is exceptionally rewarding. The work of the department makes a tangible difference to the lives of thousands of people. Our senior management team is dedicated and focussed on rising to the challenges social care faces in a post pandemic world, ensuring that the rights of our citizens are upheld, and that Hertfordshire provides people with an enabling care service, focussed on achieving the best outcomes for the people we support. In undertaking this role, you’ll be supporting that to happen.
We are a flexible and inclusive workplace, and this role may suit someone looking to gain experience working for the council, which offers many employee benefits. Primarily working remotely, you will occasionally be required to attend council offices or other venues as required. As such the role may suit someone returning to work or who has caring needs and we are open to considering any reasonable flexible working requests.
