About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Brighton & Hove City Council in the Property & Design department.

We are seeking to appoint an Architectural Technician within the Architecture & Design Team to provide technical design and implementation in a diverse range of new build and refurbishment projects covering leisure, residential, education, office, community, health and commercial developments ranging in value from £2m to £80m.

The role will support our continuing and successful delivery of new council homes, community buildings and regeneration schemes - ensuring robust technical design, regulatory compliance and a high standard of sustainable development. It is an exciting time to join our Architecture & Design Team, delivering on council strategic objectives - improving the working, living and learning environments for all communities in our City.

We are seeking an exceptional design professional with proven competency in the production of technical design drawing packages and specifications. You will have experience in the delivery of quality buildings and environments, sustainable design solutions and be committed to collaborative working across the design, client and construction teams.

Applicants should be proficient in using 2D and 3D CAD software, including Autodesk AutoCad and Revit.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Work Permits: We may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Please see Gov.uk for more information on the Skilled Worker Visa.

We offer the opportunity for the suitable candidate to choose to work in a hybrid way. Your specific working arrangements will be subject to team and service working arrangements already in place alongside Government guidance.  Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
