Starting Salary: £33,820 with the opportunity to progress to a maximum of £37,261
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:

Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have great knowledge of SEND legislation and excel in working to meet deadlines?

You can play your part in sharing our vision to develop and support the work of the Tribunal team.

In the Tribunal team, we’re constantly responding to changing priorities and our Tribunal officers must be just as flexible. The appeals are wide-ranging so there’s a lot of variety to being a Tribunal Officer (TO). The role requires close attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent communication skills, teamwork and professionalism.

In turn, you will deliver complex casework for cases that are currently in the SEND tribunal following appeals relating to the identification and assessment of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and the production, review and maintenance of Education, Health and Care plans. You will provide oversight, coordinate and lead complex casework for children and young people (0-25) where an appeal is open.

We’re looking for people who have previously worked in a Local Authority or Health Care setting with experience of the SEND processes and are proud to support our families of children and young people with special educational needs.

This is a fast-paced environment; you’ll need to be able to work under pressure and be extremely well organised, taking a pro-active approach to your workload.

We’ll need you to have a proven track record of:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, and ability to negotiate and influence.
  • 2-3 years’ experience of working in or aligned to SEND with an awareness of the services provided.
  • Excellent organisation skills including an ability to work unsupervised, systematically and an ability to manage constraints and conflicting demands and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills using verbal and written communication methods.

If you are confident, have a flare for negotiation and are solution focussed, we would love to hear from you!
