A unique opportunity has arisen to join our Children with Disability Social Work Team as an Newly Qualified Social Worker due to one of the team progressing into another role in Knowsley.

As a member of the team on your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE), you will benefit from the support of two Advanced Practitioners, a Team Manager and a visible and supportive senior officer structure including a Service Manager, Head of Service and Assistant Executive Director.

You will also benefit from being part of an inclusive and supportive team who have good knowledge of the local area, our children, families, and local services.

The successful applicant will need to be qualified and professionally registered as a social worker, have knowledge of current legislation, have demonstrated their abilities in respect previous working or commitment to work in partnership with children, young people, families, and partner agencies. They will need to evidence experience of working with vulnerable children and their families, and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form. They would need to be able to work individually and as part of a team.

You will benefit from a protected caseload and ongoing development in line with progression through your ASYE and following this we are keen to develop our staff further and offer opportunities such as becoming an Approved Mental Health Professional, DOL's (LPS) Assessor, Practice Educator, delivering training, and enrolling on management & leadership training courses. As well as group supervision with colleagues and monthly supervision with your manager you will have regular My Time; a council wide initiative to supervision and career development, ensuring that you are in control of your career development.
