RTB Valuer PO8

About Waltham Forest

Driven by our sense of the place and community, Waltham Forest continues to grow and prosper. Waltham Forest is London’s first Borough of Culture and 2019 and MJ Council of the Year. Our opportunities are real: a new university campus, £300 million new shopping centre, 10,000 new homes over the next ten years, re-invigorating a much-loved 950-seat theatre.

Our Property team is at the helm of many exciting new developments, such as Fellowship Square, home of our newly refurbished Town Hall alongside revitalised public square and fountain and many more across our borough. Our Capital Strategy and Programme Management Office sits at the core of everything the service delivers.

The Right to buy valuer will work in collaboration with the wider team and particularly with the Principal CPO and Housing surveyor. They will work as part of a multi-activity Commercial Estates and Advisory service and provide professional property valuation and management advice on the Council's land and property assets, with a specialism in the valuation of Council residential properties under the Right-to-Buy legislation. The role will also involve providing valuation advice in other aspects of housing management, including stair-casing valuations for shared ownership properties and leasehold extensions.  Some sales and acquisitions of property will also be included in the workload.

The role will involve managing a personal case load comprising a wide range of property deals and transactions primarily with regard to HRA properties and development projects.

The post is available on a permanent basis. We are looking for a dynamic, flexible candidate. You must be able to work independently and part of a team, have excellent communication skills, and a desire to continue developing yourself and the services we provide.

In return we offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on one of the most exciting construction and property programmes across London.
