Runnymede and Surrey Heath Borough Councils are working in partnership to deliver Community Transport services and are looking for Community Services Operators to join our ambitious service and provide accessible transport to residents across Runnymede and Surrey Heath boroughs, as well as travelling into other neighbouring areas as required.
You will be required to provide door to door transport to various groups of people, including older people, people with physical disabilities and children with special educational needs. Suitable candidates will need to have both practical skills and be sensitive to the needs and requirements of individuals using the service. Experience of working with different client groups would be desirable.
Our Transport Service is provided using fully accessible minibuses of up to 16 seats, so experience of driving minibuses or other vehicles of similar size or bigger is desirable, although not essential. In order to be able to drive our fleet of vehicles, you will need to have a D1 category on your driving licence, or have passed your driving test prior to January 1997.
As you will be working with members of the public daily, the ability to work with a positive approach, be flexible to meet the needs of each individual and work with a welcoming approach and a sense of humour is essential.
If you are a committed, self-motivated person who wants to make a difference to the lives of individuals in the communities we serve we are keen to hear from you.
Full training will be provided.
For more information about this role or the service in general, please contact Hayley Gray on 01932 425050 or by emailing Andy.Pickering@runnymede.gov.uk.
Closing date for applications is Wednesday 8th February 2023.
Interviews due to take place week commencing 13th February 2023.
