About us
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Because we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. As either the Pension Fund Accountant or Treasury Accountant you will play an important strategic role that sits within the Corporate Services Finance team.
The Role
The Pension Fund Accountant plays a key role in ensuring all fund assets are accounted for, reported on and the Fund can operate successfully. You will be responsible for communicating with senior management and Members on a regular basis and be able to understand and operate within a sophisticated financial framework.
The Treasury Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the debt and investment of the authority is properly managed. You will be able to operate within a highly sophisticated financial framework and oversee the controls and reporting to ensure the debt and investment is properly managed. You will have oversight of the authority’s cash flow and banking operations and will be able to communicate with Members, senior management and Heads of Service to achieve our goals.
About You
The post holders will be accomplished accountants able to demonstrate successful management of discrete and complex financial areas. You will be a fast learner able to work under pressure with the ability to trouble shoot, communicate with all levels of officer and have member level exposure. You must be able to understand the detailed CIPFA accounting requirements and also pick up complicated niche areas of finance either dealing with the London money markets and brokers or with an array of finance professionals including actuaries, investment consultants, investment managers and other advisers. If you are a newly qualified accountant or well on the way to achieving this and are ambitious then one of these roles may suit you as it will give you the chance to demonstrate mastery of a discrete discipline, the ability to communicate with the highest levels of officer and members and the chance to put your professional studies into action in two areas of financial strategy.
