North Somerset Council has a wide-ranging programme of urban regeneration and transport improvement schemes.  An Additional Clerk of works is required to support the Development Implementation and asset team in the management of road adoptions, i.e. visiting and monitoring construction of roadworks associated with developer-led Section 38 and 278 agreements, to ensure quality control, compliance and safety is maintained. 

You will Liaise with developers and their contractors, Statutory Undertakers and local residents to resolve queries and site issues.

You will also undertake estimating, supervision and administration tasks, including the maintenance of technical records.

You will be required to undertake inspections of roadworks being carried out on the public highway and on development sites this will include checking the setting out of works, quality control of materials, measuring and making arrangements to correct material and workmanship issues.  

You will also be expected to support the wider team in asset inspections and collection or assisting the materials testing laboratory on a adhoc basis within the limits of equivalent tasks in the posts grading

Ideally candidates should have appropriate qualifications or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency based experience:-

- CSCS (Supervisory) Card.

- Temporary Works Supervisor Certificate.

- Qualification in NRSWA and experience of NRSWA inspections/(Chapter 8).

- Qualification in road safety inspection, such as City & Guilds, LANTRA or equivalent.

Driving is an essential requirement of the role.
