Rethink your career and help reshape our libraries
Today’s public library is more than a collection of books. It’s hub for community activities, a place to access digital technology, and a gateway to reading, information and wellbeing.
All of which means today’s librarians need skills that are much more community focused. Modern librarians are inspiring, imaginative, outgoing – and passionate about access to learning. They come from all walks of life. Could you be one of them?
We’re looking for a new Assistant Customer Services Supervisor, effectively a deputy manager, for our Hoddesdon library to help us promote the library service to the wider community. Your role will support the Library Manager and the Customer Services supervisor to actively supervise the team at Hoddesdon Library, including staff timetabling, training and development. You will also be expected to support the Library Manager with the Performance and development 1:1s cycle, and act as senior on duty as and when required.
The role will also compile, maintain and provide effective returns for monthly statistical information. Alongside this the role also actively engages with the delivery and promotion of all frontline services in the library and outreach activities as required
Please note – your application will not be considered if you do not provide answers to the questions listed.
Please ensure you are able to work the hours on the attached rota before applying
