Finance Apprentice

Job Title: Finance Apprentice

Location: County Hall (Hybrid)

Salary Range: £21,189 with the opportunity to progress to maximum £22,369 (Excluding 23/24 pay award pending)

Hours: Full time – 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

 

 

The Opportunity

We are looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals interested in join our busy Finance team.  The successful candidates will learn and support the team including basic bookkeeping activities, assisting with budget monitoring, and supporting budget managers.  Some prior work experience working in a finance-based role or completion of AAT level 2 is desirable but not essential.

 

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the team of accountants, providing you with the skills and insight to move into a career within finance.

 

The role will be based at County Hall in Hertford although will include Hybrid working.

 

We are offering:

  • Sponsorship to complete the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) professional accountancy qualification Level 3 to Level 4.

  • College sessions onsite, day release or virtual, this will be confirmed at the induction with the training provider.

Essential requirements:

  • Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE A*-C/9-4 or equivalent)
  • If applicants have a Level 3 or higher qualification in an accountancy related area, they would not be eligible.
  • Demonstrable ambition to make a career in public sector finance.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK, without the requirement of sponsorship
