Employment and Skills Officer

An exciting opportunity to join the Economy and Growth Team is now available.

Rushmoor has a strong economy supported by a highly skilled and talented workforce. However, the right mix and breadth of skills is vital in ensuring Rushmoor’s businesses and communities continue to thrive. It is even more important in a borough with some areas of relative economic and social deprivation and relatively high rates of unemployment.

The role will:

 - Work with partners to support a range of employment and skills activities across the borough to promote a highly skilled workforce and a labour market able to provide training, employment and education opportunities for all.

 - Support projects and initiatives which raise aspirations and help local people gain the skills and confidence needed to access job opportunities and become economically active.

 - Help businesses in the borough secure a skilled workforce and work with training providers to ensure that provision meets the needs of a growing local economy.

 - Work with developers and business to identify the employment and training opportunities they can offer through the delivery of Employment and Skills Plans.

 - Undertake data monitoring and analysis of the local labour market and where relevant monitor and evaluate employment and skills programmes.

You will be motivated by the opportunity to support our residents to be the best they can be and enjoy working collaboratively to respond to local priorities.

You will have good communication skills and be a self-starter able to identify opportunities for collaborative projects. You will be able to engage effectively with a wide range of businesses, residents and support organisations and have a commitment to creating strong and effective partnerships.
