More Information
Headteacher
Start date: 1st September 2023
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Head Teacher.
Our amazing nursery school prides itself on providing an inclusive nursery experience for a diverse community within Newham. We combine a maintained nursery school for 3 & 4 year olds with provision for 30 hours placements, 2 year olds and children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
At RONEC we have a commitment to provide appropriate opportunities for young children to learn through play. Our staff team, led by qualified Froebelian teachers, delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage through play with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, influenced by a Forest School approach. Children are encouraged to self-select activities and resources that interest them and staff skilfully intervene to ensure learning is extended appropriately. As Head Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations, working with the children as well as managing administrative duties. You will be responsible for leading the team in creating a fun, warm and welcoming environment that enables all children to be confident, independent learners and achieve their full potential.
To be considered for this role, you should have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective curricula, managing teams of teachers and support staff, and maintaining strong relationships with parents and the wider community. SEND experience is also important.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and inspiring a team of teachers and support staff to create a warm and nurturing environment
- Maintain the safe and secure space where our children learn
- The management and organisation of the nursery school including duties such as budgeting, HR, safeguarding and communication with parents and the governing body
- Overseeing the development and implementation of the curriculum
- Maintaining strong, effective relationships with parents and the wider community
We welcome applications from candidates who demonstrate the necessary leadership skills, qualifications, and experience. If you are passionate about early childhood education and would relish working in a supportive and collaborative environment, we would like to hear from you. This is a rare and unique opportunity due to the retirement of the current Head Teacher.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS and pre-employment check. RONEC is an equal opportunities employer. Please contact the nursery on 020 8534 6196 to arrange a visit.
Closing date for applications: Friday 9th June 2023 at noon.
Interviews: Thursday 15th June 2023 at the nursery.
Equal Opportunities
