This is an exciting opportunity to join the Buntingford Library team with our vision to provide vibrant modern libraries that are destination venues welcoming the whole community. You will contribute to the Inspiring Libraries: my place ambition of attracting more visitors through participation in and support of outreach and promotional activities in the community.
Working as part of a team, you will deliver excellent customer service to library customers, ensuring all information, services and resources are available and promoted to members of the public.
You will have the skills and abilities actively supervise the team, including staff timetabling, training and development. You will also support staff appraisals, and act as senior on duty as and when required.
You will have the ability to compile, maintain and provide effective returns for monthly financial and statistical information. You will actively engage with all frontline services in the Library, and outreach activities as required
This role involves both meeting deadlines for admin returns, supervising staff and providing a service to customers. Therefore, you’ll need to be able to work under pressure at times and be extremely well organised, taking a pro-active approach to your workload.
We’ll need you to have a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and be able to ensure work is carried out to a high standard within agreed KPIs. With highly developed interpersonal skills you will be confident in working with a team of staff. You’ll be competent in Microsoft packages.
Buntingford Library has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and is now a modern and beautifully fitted, thriving library that sits in the very heart of a town with a strong community.
