Our vision is to secure the best possible future for our residents, defined by the community prosperity we create and supported by our excellent people and services. If you strive to #BeTheDifference and want to be at the heart of our change and improvement journey, then this could be the perfect job for you.

Libraries are more than collection of books; they are hubs for community activities, places to access digital technology, and gateways to reading, information and wellbeing. Wirral Libraries exist to help people to live better lives for longer.

We are looking to appoint several enthusiastic Library Information Assistants, who are passionate about reading, library services and their communities. You must be customer focused, a keen team player, have excellent digital skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service and be capable of dealing positively with change and willing to embrace innovative ways of working.

The variety of our work means that no two days are the same, therefore using your initiative and working without supervision is essential. We get huge job satisfaction from helping everyone that comes through our doors, and you could too!

Please note this is a physically active role and will include carrying books, pushing trolleys, lifting boxes and being on your feet for long periods of time.

Successful applicants will need to work flexibly across our network of library sites within the Borough.

All posts will include working one evening per week until 7pm with Part-time staff working 1 in 4 Saturdays and full-time staff working 2 in 4 Saturdays. (There are a variety of different working patterns to meet the service needs, specific work patterns to be discussed at interview).
