This is an exciting time for Great Grimsby as significant new investment into culture and major regeneration initiatives combine to transform the economic and social future of North East Lincolnshire.

In early 2019, the area was awarded £3.2m by Government to deliver a new programme of international events, increase business support for the creative industries and an opportunity to establish a new production facility in the town’s historic centre. This cultural investment programme will build on the ground-breaking Stage 1 Great Grimsby Town Deal signed by Ministers in July 2018. Together, these two flagship initiatives are set to drive economic growth, accelerate housing delivery, transform the waterfront and improve skills and educational attainment.

The post of Strategic Lead - Culture has been created to leverage the role arts, culture and heritage can play in maximising these investments for local residents, tourists and the creative sector. This is a new post that will work in partnership across organisations and across sectors to ensure, not only the delivery of our successful Cultural Development Fund Programme but also championing and actioning the refreshed Culture & Heritage Framework created for North East Lincolnshire in December 2018. This post will shape the cultural offer in our borough, create networks that shape cultural activity and that have national and international importance. As the post holder you will be working with internationally recognised figures in the cultural field and using their knowledge and expertise to develop a programme in North East Lincolnshire that attracts national and international media coverage.

With huge potential for artistic and cultural development across North East Lincolnshire and the funds to catalyse the growth of the creative industries, this is a pivotal role with the resources and scope to transform Great Grimsby for this and future generations.

Interviews will be held w/c 7th October 2019.
